Celebrate the start of spring at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show, an annual tradition that dates back to the 1800s. The event, set for March 18-22, attracts more than 40,000 people to the Navy Pier every year. This year’s theme is “20/20 Focus on Flowers,” and the event is filled with hands-on experiences. You’ll be able to walk through 21 life-sized gardens, take part in DIY workshops, watch garden-to-table cooking presentations, and shop in a marketplace.

Some specific events include a make-and-take workshop, where you’ll build your own custom succulent terrarium and learn about how to take care of it year-round, with the help of an instructor.

Technically, Nori & Wasabi isn’t a bar, per se. In fact, it serves no alcohol at all, instead operating as a BYOB establishment. But that takes nothing away from the level of craft and care its chefs deliver to hungry customers. The special rolls are impressive.
